Join Enrique Toso and Houston Smith at the greatest food and wine festival in Vail, Colorado!
In its 20th year, the Taste of Vail is the nation’s premier spring food and wine festival, held at several venues throughout North America’s #1 ski resort. During the annual three-day event, upwards of 5,000 people are able to “taste the Vail Valley lifestyle” which showcases Vail’s world-famous resort village set against dramatic mountain vistas.
Participants at the Taste of Vail experience the Vail Valley’s world-class restaurants, fine wine poured by winemakers and winery owners from top wineries around the globe, along with interactive seminars, auction and dance, the Colorado Lamb Cook Off, apres ski tasting and the popular mountaintop picnic sensory extravaganza at the top of Vail Mountain.

The Wine Enthusiast reviews two of TGIC’s Argentine Malbecs: Achaval Ferrer Finca Bella Vista 2007 and Pascual Toso Alta Reserva 2007. The article, which appears online, features the Achaval Ferrer bottle in a photograph under the banner “Malbec in the Spotlight.” Both wines received 93 Point accolades through the magazine.
The Finca Bella Vista is described as:
Electric purple in color, with a concentrated nose of mineral, black plum and toast. The palate is lush and giant, which is reflective of Perdriel in Mendoza’s traditional midsection, but balanced by natural acidity and fine tannins. Huge berry and plum flavors are dense, and vanilla, coffee and herb flavors grace the finish. Drink now through 2016.
A tasting note for the Alta Reserva reads:
All early signs say this one is here for the long haul; it is aggressive but serious, with fine acids and tannins hoisting deep black plum and berry flavors. Chocolate, mocha and pepper work the long finish. Best now through 2013.
